Devoniensis, Cl. (Tea) [Climbing sport of Devoniensis (Smithii x a yellow China)] This is a lovely old rose, reportedly hardier than many other Teas. According to an article in The Gardeners Chronicle (October 14, 1899), 'Devoniensis' is an excellent rootstock for 'Maréchal Niel' which tends to develop root canker when grown in England.
