The origins and synonyms of the Rose Zéphyrine Drouhin. - The Rose Zèphyrine Drouhin is equipped with a large number of synonyms, and everyone does not agree on its origin. Thus, this Rose is grown in Switzerland under the name of Charles Bonnet and England under that of Mrs. Gustave Bonnet. In Germany it is called Zèphyrine Drouhin, and Italy, Ingegnoli prediletta. Finally, we find in France, in crops, scratched his name in various ways: Zephyrine Druot, Drouot, Drouhot, etc.. The Rose Zèphyrine Drouhin was obtained by M. Bizot father rose grower in Dijon, but many opinions circulating about the time. This circumstance has determined Mr. Pingeon, secretary of the Horticultural Society of Viticulture and the Côte d'Or, to search for the exact date of the acquisition and the exact origin of its name. It follows research by Mr. Pingeon, published by the Bulletin of the Horticultural Society of the Côte d'Or, the Rose mentioned was obtained and named in 1873. Mr. Bizot dedicated it to Mme Zéphyrine Drouhin, wife of M. Drouhin, owner and lover of horticulture Semur (Côte-d'Or), the request was addressed to him by Father Drouhin, who was at that time curate at the Church of Notre-Dame de Dijon.
