On what they like to play their characters and shoot the series

Ossas: My favorite part about [playing Zuri] will have to be… I mean it’s not a fair question actually because the whole experience was really my favorite part, having the opportunity to work with some amazingly talented women on screen and behind the scenes and yes , I think my whole experience was my favorite part.

Lala: ‘I absolutely loved shooting the show, and being a co-producer on it also gave me a lot of insight and I grew in my problem-solving skills for sure. My favorite role playing Adesuwa was at the end when she finally found her power. It’s always like you know, throughout the story she had joy with her friends but her joy was always short-lived. But at the end of the day, when Soji got arrested and told her mom to go away, it’s one of my favorite scenes. So yeah, it was like my favorite part or my favorite moment while playing Adesuwa.

Ebenezer: I really enjoyed shooting the character of Ladun! It was difficult at first because like I said; Ladun is awesome! So it was hard to let go of me so you know Ladun can show up and be his fabulous self.

Ini: What I liked the most was the energy! Everyone [on set] was there to make it work and there is nothing more inspiring than that. I mean it was amazing playing Tami and I love that she’s a designer and I personally love fashion so that was a given.

Toni: My favorite part of the shoot was the shoot. I loved bringing Lara to life, so I had a great time with it. I think the whole cast had great synergy on set as well, so it seemed like a big party because we all had so much fun on set that it didn’t really feel like work.

On relations with their characters

Ossas: Uh, as far as what Zuri went through financially a few years ago… yeah, I had to learn the hard way, learn to save, how to budget and I was definitely able to communicate well with her about it .

Ini: My best friend is also a designer and her business has had its ups and downs and even last year she literally had to close to restructure and you know how to start over and she is going by the grace of God to start at the end of the year so basically I just had to tap into that… She’s my best friend, so I literally saw everything that happened and Tami had a similar story, so I kind of tapped into it. this scenario and I was able to tell [to the character] in this way.

Eby: Ladun has a heart. You know, at the center of it all, she’s got a heart, she’s got a really strong mind and yeah, they can see that before the show ends. It doesn’t start that way, but they see it as the series unfolds.

On the style of their characters

Ossas: I really loved Zuri’s sense of style, she’s sophisticated, works savvy, trendy all the way! I loved, every piece I loved!

Toni: There is no piece of Lara that I wouldn’t wear. I love Lara’s style, Lara is an oil and gas executive, but she’s so stylish, she’s not your oil and gas executive, super stylish, super chic, a not very sexy too and very classy! I love her wardrobe, there is no piece of Lara that I wouldn’t wear in real life … it’s just that a lot of her pieces were a little formal because of her work, but I would wear n any of her clothes I love her style and have to keep some of her pieces too so heyyyyy !!

Lala: Adesuwa’s style! I would really steal his closet oh! I don’t think Adesuwa was wearing anything that I wouldn’t wear as Lala, in fact playing Adesuwa definitely opened my eyes to the possibilities. For example, Adesuwa wore a lot of pants and suits, which I mean. I started to wear them but not as often as Adesuwa wore them. You almost always saw her in pants or a suit and that’s something. I love his style from start to finish.

Ini: I like to use fashion to explore and express myself – It’s really an outlet for everyday self-expression and I think with Tami we’re really similar in that way. I love doing the red carpet and doing like a huge dress, like a princess you know? Or some days more elegant and sexy. To me it’s like, who am I today? And I think Tami is very like that, so it goes without saying that her wardrobe was super fun!
