JOHNSON CITY, Tennessee (WJHL) – A group of aspiring pharmacists have been recognized nationally on the cover of the American Pharmacist Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists magazine, according to ETSU University Relations.

Alexa Bancroft, Andrew Dickerson, Dawnna Metcalfe and Kelsey Brimer, students of ETSU’s Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, were at the center of the bimonthly APhA-ASP magazine.

The November / December 2019 issue focused on a topic of team personal development. These students participated in the aerial adventure course while completing team activities.

Photos of Auggie Bui, who is also a pharmacy student on her way to graduating from the program this year, illustrating the adventure journey were also included in the feature article “Becoming a Successful Team”.

“As future pharmacists, teamwork is an essential skill,” said Dickerson, president of the college’s APhA-ASP section. “We have to be able to rely on each other to achieve the ultimate goal. This applies both to our organization and to us as members of an interprofessional healthcare team. Overall I think the photoshoot went really well and represents our chapter and our university well. ”

Metcalfe was featured in another article in the November / December issue for her accomplishments on the Generation Rx committee helping save lives through medicine.

The four students featured are set to graduate in 2021.

Over the past six years, Gatton College of Pharmacy’s Generation Rx committee has ranked No.1 or No.2 nationwide.
