New SOTW Digital Magazine: Reggie Fountain’s Industry Impact, Offshore Racing Insights, Sunsation Milestone, and More

It’s a good week for fans of Speed On The Water content beyond the daily high performance boating news on speedonthewater.com. Yesterday, ‘Headline with TNT Custom Marine’s Johnny Tomlinson’, the second episode of our sophomore documentary-style video series, went live.

Today, like right now, you can download the new issue of our quarterly digital magazine Speed On The Water.

The first issue of 2022, this 88-page beauty is packed with great content, starting with a great feature on Reggie Fountain, Jr., written by editor Eric Colby. For a fresh look at Fountain’s accomplishments, Colby turned to notable members of the marine industry, from Peter Hledin of Skater Powerboats to former Mercury Racing president Fred Kiekhaefer. It’s a fun read.

LOOK AHEAD WITH TNT CUSTOM MARINE’S JOHN TOMLINSON

Colby is also the author of “Sun-Stoppable”, a compelling article detailing the evolution of Sunsation powerboats. The Michigan-based performance center console builder celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Sunsation’s story is one of tenacity, evolution and reinvention.

In our “Make or Break—Offshore Racing 2022” article, we take a look at the current state of the sport and the upcoming season. It’s shaping up to be a great year on many fronts, but more progress is essential for sustained growth.

As featured in Powerboat magazine circa 2004, a few legends – Reggie Fountain (driving) and Fabio Buzzi – ran a Fountain Powerboats v-bottom on the Pamlico River in North Carolina. Read more about Fountain in the latest digital magazine.

With all the outboard motor catamarans creating the most buzz these days – don’t get me wrong, we love them – we’re thrilled to include the profiles of two sterndrive big cats in this issue. Konga 50ft Skater Powerboats owned by Yves Belanger from Florida, will knock you out, as will the jaw-dropping DCB Performance Boats M44 Widebody owned by Californian Mauricio Vivanco and nicknamed DLA-M44.

As usual, you’ll find all the departments you love from On Scene and Tomlinson’s Take to Hot Sheet and Gear.

Between this digital magazine and our “In The Lead” video, you should have enough content to get you through the weekend. But if not, you can always turn to speedonthewater.com, where there’s something new every day of the week.
