No, the cover of Time magazine does not call Trump the worst president of all time.

No, the cover of Time magazine does not call Trump the worst president of all time.

There is no Time magazine cover featuring President Donald Trump with the text “Worst. President. Ever”. This cover you may have seen on Facebook is not real.

The fake cover has a close-up portrait of Trump, with the special effect of his profile turning into a skull. Beneath the magazine’s iconic red logo are large white letters that read “Worst. President. Ever.” The caption reads, “How DONALD TRUMP ‘disgraced the nation’s highest office'”, with more slurs.

Time featured Trump on its cover several times before and after his presidential victory. But there’s no trace of that cover in Time’s skip.

Like our fact-checking friends from Snopes notedthe fake cover has been circulating on social media since at least November 2017. The president’s “worst” cover has a fabricated twin with a counter-message about Trump: “Best. President. Ever.

Earlier this year, the weekly published an article online about Trump’s Many Covers stories.

“Since launching his presidential campaign, Donald Trump has appeared on more than a dozen covers of TIME magazine,” Time’s post said. “He was depicted in several stages of collapse, standing next to his electoral opponent and an unstable Washington monument, speaking from behind a podium during the campaign trail and at his inauguration.”

Time presented Trump on its covers in an unflattering way. But he wasn’t on a cover with the text “Worst. President. Ever.” It’s a made-up claim that’s been making the rounds on Facebook.
